The Cladich fold featured in Volume 1 of the Highland Cattle Society Herd Book of 1885 and was founded on bloodlines from Barbeck, Balliemore, Foreland, Gartlea, Glenfalloch, Laudale, Mingary and Skipness.
Domhnull Ruadh of Cladich, calved 1878, and bred by John MacColl, manager, Cladich, gained the Highland and Agricultural Society's silver medal at the Inveraray District competition in 1882.
Cladich is situated on South Loch Aweside and the highland cattle graze mostly on rough hill land.
The cattle are kept outside all year round and they are fed hay and cow rolls from December to April. |

Bulls have been exported to Australia, Denmark, Sweden, and USA, and females to Austria, Belgium, Denmark,Germany, Holland and Switzerland.
Cattle are sold privately and at Oban in February and October.
